Sample questionQuestion 2 of 7

Which role do you play with the people closest to you that you never chose for yourself?

The organiser. I book the trips, remember the birthdays and sort out the arguments. I’m not sure anyone would notice I wanted a turn at not being in charge

Masks, roles and stories

The questions are built around one idea: much of who we think we are is habits we picked up to get by.

Masks
The faces you put on for particular rooms.
Roles
The parts you were cast in early and keep playing.
Stories
The sentences you repeat about yourself without checking them.

5 self discovery questions to ask yourself

Use these on your own, no account needed. When you start Self Discovery, the AI writes a fresh set of seven for you.

  1. 1

Which version of you shows up at work that never shows up at home?

  2. 2

What do you say yes to because saying no would change how people see you?

  3. 3

When did you last feel completely like yourself? What were you doing?

  4. 4

Whose approval are you still working for?

  5. 5

What would you stop doing tomorrow if nobody would notice?

Patterns to grow

  • You notice what other people need before they say it.
  • When something matters to you, you finish it, even unwatched.

  • You treat being needed as proof that you are worth something.
  • You shrink your own plans when someone else's look more urgent.

Daily affirmations

  • My worth does not depend on how useful I am today.
  • I am allowed to want things out loud.
  • I choose honestly, not just safely.

Steps to act on

  1. 1.Say no to one request this week without giving a reason.Turn into a goal
  2. 2.Block two evenings for your own project and treat them like meetings.

Self discovery questions, answered

How is this different from a personality test?

A personality test asks you to pick from fixed answers and places you in a type. Here you answer open questions in your own words, and the reading is about the patterns in your answers, not a category.

Who can see my answers?

Your answers and your reading are saved to your account, and other users can't read them. To write your reading, your answers are sent to an AI model, so leave out anything you would not want to type into an online service, such as other people's private details.

Can I redo it later?

Yes, one result at a time. The reading stays in your account until you delete it from the results screen; then you can start again for 1 credit. It is worth doing in one quiet sitting.

Is it free?

It is free to start: new accounts get 5 credits on sign-up, and Self Discovery uses 1 of them.
